The Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 was officially launched on September 23, 2025 by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan . This exciting national event is designed to spark innovation and creativity among school students. It is part of the larger vision of Viksit Bharat @2047, which aims to build a self-reliant and developed India by the year 2047 .
This Buildathon is organized by the Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL) under the Ministry of Education. It is supported by Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog, and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) .
What Is Viksit Bharat Buildathon?
The Buildathon is a nationwide innovation challenge. It invites students from Classes 6 to 12 to solve real-world problems using their ideas and teamwork. The goal is to promote problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaboration among young minds.
Students are encouraged to create prototypes, share creative solutions, and work together to build a better future. The event focuses on themes like Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India), Swadeshi (Local Innovation), and Samriddhi (Prosperity) .
Massive Participation Expected
More than 1 crore students from over 1.5 lakh schools across India are expected to take part in this Buildathon . This makes it one of the largest student innovation movements in the country.
The registration process began in late September and was open until October 11, 2025 . Due to high interest, the deadline was extended from the original date of October 6.
